How to Speak Without Notes: Free eBook

I realize your notes are comforting, but they are also disconnecting. Great content without great connection is poor communication. And your notes really get in the way of connecting with your crowd.

Ready to Grow as a Communicator?

Let’s see if working together
works for you.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

Hi. I'm Dr. Gavin Adams, an author, communicator, strategic consultant, and leadership coach helping leaders and pastors work on it, not just in it.

I first began speaking in the marketplace. I often found myself creating and giving sales presentations.

When I began volunteering in student ministry, the student pastor asked me to preach one Wednesday night. I didn’t realize it then, but I had a marketplace speaking system – and it didn’t really translate to middle school students.

We all have a communication system that defines how we approach creating and presenting content.

My communication skills improved when I began to focus more on why I was speaking than on what I was saying and how I was saying it.

Why we speak should define what we say and how we say it.

You have a system, too. Perhaps you learned it in seminary. Or maybe you mimic the communicators you admire.

How do you know if your system is working?

“Gavin has been incredibly helpful as a teaching pastor at our church and developing our communicators. Specifically, Gavin helps us with sermon and series conceptualization, content development, and coaching to maximize each speaker’s potential. He truly has a gift for extracting relevant, helpful message and series content and helping our communicators do the same.”
